DUA INSIGHT  -  Dua Insight - is an Initiative or a platform that makes you go into the depth, reflect, understand & connect the Dua دعا and the Adhkaar الذكار from Quraa'n & authentic Ahadith to read & relate to your daily life in Arabic.

We are going to understand this beautiful Dua today.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

[البقرة :201]

Before having a Look into the construction of the Aayah 201 of Surah Baqarah, let us go into the context i.e Aayah 200,

"And when you have completed your rites, remember Allah like your [previous] remembrance of your fathers or with [much] greater remembrance.

There are among they who only ask for this Duniya they will not get anything of the hereafter."

And Why should they, when they didn’t care about it.

Why should they, when they don’t ask for it.

But there is another category who ask the three Duas

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا Oh our Rabb grant us

1) فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً goodness in this world

2) وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً and goodness in the next

3) وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ and protect us from the punishment of the fire.

[البقرة :201]

There are Three Duas.

Two of them are for hereafter & one for this world.

2/3rd of the Dua you are more concern of the hereafter, more concern of Spiritual & he doesn’t ignore the worldly needs, not if he sidelines it. But his main concern is guidance from Allah & forgiveness.

i.e Combinations of love, hope & mercy = Hidayah & Maghfirah.

Hasan حَسَن in Arabic means good & beautiful things i.e actually beautiful not only that which appear to us.

And this Dua combines “Here” & “There”.

Our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did not only concern about what matters to the next life. If he ( محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ) is entirely spiritual & be miserable in this life. Our religion doesn’t come for that only.

Allah put this desire (love for this Duniya) in us & put it for a reason because all of which is beautiful in this world is actually a preview of what he is waiting in the next.

Worldly life is not a goal. It’s a preparation for the next. This life supposed to motivate us.

And worldly life doesn’t become a goal.

Our religion beautifies this life along with the next & those always go hand in hand.

Every decision u make. I & you have to ask & inspire by the dua we ask for. If we are materialistic & didn’t care about what we got.

So as long we are enjoying ourselves & didn’t consider our next life then we are not protecting ourselves from punishment of the fire.

May Allah give us the best of this life that is the means of getting the best in the next life & protect us from the severe punishment of the hellfire. Ameen
